TRUMP token -15% since dinner as 40% of guests dump by dessert

The worst-performing digital asset in the top 100 today is US President Donald Trump’s memecoin, TRUMP. Down 15% since last night’s highly anticipated dinner gala that drew protests from US constituents, the contentious asset has lost a significant amount of utility since yesterday. Many of the attendees dumped their TRUMP holdings after receiving a dinner invite, which partially explained the slump.  About 40% of the top 220 wallets that once held enough tokens to qualify for the dinner held no TRUMP during the actual dinner. Owners of the memecoin don’t receive any equity, dividends, or other financial interests in any company. The top 220 holders as of a snapshot date that has already passed could qualify for dinner access. Going forward, the coin simply is “an expression of support for, and engagement with, the ideals and beliefs embodied by the symbol $TRUMP and the associated artwork,” according to Trump’s official website. Trump Media looks past Crypto.com red flags to launch new partnership

This morning, Donald Trump’s publicly-traded Truth Social operator announced that it has picked Crypto.com as a launch partner for ETFs containing bitcoin (BTC), Cronos (CRO), and other crypto assets “with a Made in America focus.” The partnership is curious for many reasons, not least of all Crypto.com’s very not-Made-in-America history in Asia and Europe. CEO Kris Marszalek spent most of his career in Singapore and Hong Kong , and Crypto.com’s current world headquarters is in Singapore . (Its North American division has a headquarters in Texas.) The giant crypto exchange once offered a debit card powered by Germany -based Wirecard and established a regional headquarters in France . However, Crypto.com’s non-USA operations are far less interesting than its dubious financial history.  Un-burning CRO to inflate the supply 156% Just this month, a Crypto.com subsidiary proposed the reversal of its 70 billion CRO token burn. That would not only renege on a pr...

Insider trading: Ethereum creator Vitalik Buterin moved $10 million ETH in August

Image
The Ethereum Foundation recently faced criticism regarding its preparation for a nearly $100 million Ethereum (ETH) sale on Kraken. Meanwhile, Vitalik Buterin moved $10 million worth of ETH to a new crypto wallet in August, partially trading it for USDC. Lookonchain spotted the activity from Vitalik Buterin’s registered Ethereum Name Service (ENS) domain ‘vitalik.eth‘. As posted on X, Ethereum’s creator sent 800 ETH, worth $2.01 million, to a multisig wallet on August 29. These wallets are usually managed by more than one person, requiring multiple signatures before spending their funds. vitalik.eth(@VitalikButerin) transferred 800 $ETH($2.01M) to a multisig wallet again 40 minutes ago. The multisig wallet swapped 190 $ETH for 477K $USDC later. On Aug 9, #Vitalik also transferred 3,000 $ETH($8.04M) to this multisig wallet.https://t.co/81Vf39bvbL pic.twitter.com/6IlwtcqvPg — Lookonchain (@lookonchain) August 30, 2024 Interestingly, the ...
