The sizeable round cements its position as one of the most valuable private technology companies in the world, amid surging interest in artificial intelligence. OpenAI o1 predicts Bitcoin price for the 2024 ‘Uptober’

Since 2013, Bitcoin (BTC) has experienced positive returns in October for nine out of eleven years, rendering the “Uptober” moniker. As September ends, Finbold turned to OpenAI’s artificial intelligence (AI) model, o1, for a price prediction based on historical results. The o1 AI – deemed one of the world’s most advanced models – calculated a potential price for Bitcoin in 2024’s “Uptober.” For that, OpenAI’s o1 used the average and median monthly historical results from October’s opening to closing prices. As a result, o1 predicts BTC will trade between $80,800 and $83,900 by the end of the month. Worldcoin to cease paying Orb operators in USDC as early as November

Aside from ditching USDC for its native token, Worldcoin announced some changes to the terms of its WLD loans to market makers. Worldcoin is set to begin paying its Orb Operators — those rewarded for scanning people's eyes — with its native Worldcoin (WLD) token, phasing out USD Coin (USDC) as early as next month. According to an Oct. 22 announcement, Worldcoin says Orb Operators — who are “independent ecosystem participants” tasked with scanning people’s irises in exchange for WLD tokens — will cease to be paid in USDC as of November. The change will affect most jurisdictions. Worldcoin said the move to pay orb operators entirely in WLD was part of a “transitional phase” following the official launch of the project on July 24.
